Donor. Grantee. Board. This list is a resource for our community, partners, and fundholders who are interested in supporting Black-led organizations. It is critical that we acknowledge how historical inequities, unconscious bias, and other structural obstacles in philanthropy restrict access to capital and capacity-building for Black-led organizations.
We also recognize the Arizona Community Foundation's role and responsibility to amplify the important work of these organizations, their leaders, and the communities they serve.
This list highlights Arizona-based organizations led by Black CEOs, executive directors, and board chairs. We have also included organizations that serve Black communities. We understand that this list is by no means a comprehensive guide to all organizations and nonprofits supporting Black communities in our state.
Instead, we view this resource as a starting point in recognizing the role Black-led organizations play in building racial justice in our community. This organization believes every Arizonans should know of the existence and contributions of these African American soldiers and Arizona military heroes. Care Pictures Love aims to reconstruct the disrupted lives of children due to having a parent in prison.
